Students receive instruction that is tailored to their strengths, needs, interests, and goals. Learning experiences focus on building skills in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, communication, daily living, and preparation for life after school.

Our programs are designed to help students make meaningful progress while participating in engaging, age-respectful learning experiences that encourage growth and independence.

In addition to academic instruction, all students participate in:

• Adapted Physical Education and Health

These experiences provide opportunities for creativity, movement, self-expression, and personal growth.

Students may receive related services as determined by their Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Our teams work together to ensure students have the support they need to access learning and achieve their goals.

Marple Education Center uses positive, proactive approaches to help students develop skills and build independence. A team of specialists, including Board-Certified Behavior Analysts, Crisis Managers, Administrators, and the Social Worker, support students and work with teachers to create supportive learning environments that promote communication, self-regulation, problem-solving, and positive relationships.

Students participate in community-based learning experiences that allow them to practice important life skills in real-world settings. Depending on student needs and goals, experiences may focus on:

• Communication skills
• Social skills
• Leisure and recreation
• Daily living skills
• Community participation
• Pre-employment and workplace skills

These opportunities help students build confidence and apply classroom learning in meaningful ways.

Students enjoy a variety of special events and activities throughout the school year, including:

• Assemblies
• Dances
• Performances
• Field Day
• Prom
• Graduation celebrations

These experiences help create a vibrant school community where students can celebrate accomplishments, build friendships, and create lasting memories.

The health and well-being of every student is a top priority at Marple Education Center. Our school nurses work closely with families and healthcare providers to support students' individual health needs and help ensure a safe school environment.

Services include:

• Personalized health plans for students with specific medical needs
• Regular check-ups and monitoring of chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and seizure disorders
• Safe and accurate administration of both prescription and over-the-counter medications, as authorized by parents and healthcare providers
• Immediate attention for any accidents or sudden illnesses that occur during school hours

The social worker at Marple Education Center partners with students, families, and staff to support student success both inside and outside of school.

Support may include:

• Individual and group counseling
• Crisis intervention
• Assisting families in navigating community resources and accessing services
• Social skills development
• Educational workshops for parents and staff on topics such as transition resources, registering with OIDD, community resources, and more
