Building Invention Literacy with Makey Makey
Get ready for a fun hands-on workshop where you will learn how to teach Invention Literacy, Making, and Design Thinking using the award winning Makey Makey invention kit used by educators in all 50 states and around the world and featured in TED talks. In this session, we will explore how to teach circuits and conductivity, and put those skills to design inventions and solve design challenges. Participatns will use the Makey Makey to engage in creating and building circuits to animate and solve a variety of problems. You will learn best practices and gain access to a multimedia training website that you can use later when you train others or teach the students you serve. Participants will receive a device to use in their classrooms.
This workshop is perfect for K-12 classroom teachers, afterschool professionals, administrators, and coaches.
