Approval to support professional development opportunities for District and IU staff:

  • Contract with Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) for DCIU to provide the second year of professional development services and support for the Middle School Success: Path to Graduation (P2G) SPDG grant from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. Amend the contract with Southeast Delco School District (originally Board approved on September 2, 2020) as follows:
    • Change "Supporting Staff and Students Returning to School" training on September 1, 2020 to a half-day
    • Change "PREPaRE Refresher" training on October 8, 2020 to a half-day

Approval of other grants, contracts, appointments and services:

  • Appointment of Mr. Lawrence Kutys, Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, to fulfill the term August 27, 2020 through June 30, 2021, vacated by Dr. Michele Downie.
  • Approval to seek reimbursement of the Safe Plans, LLC ERIP subscription for the 2020-2021 school year from the following Delaware County school districts: Chester Upland; Chichester; Garnet Valley; Ridley; William Penn.
  • Approval of the DCTS Local Advisory Committee and Occupational Advisory Committee (OAC) members for the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Contracts with Delaware County Library Systems for the hosting services of their Microsoft Exchange Email Application from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2023 and to provide equipment monitoring and maintenance from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022.
  • Welcomed DCIU Student Board Representatives for 2020-21:
    • Jason Terzoglou, an Exercise Therapy & Sports Science student at the DCIU Aston Campus, from Springfield High School, representing DCTS.
    • Seth Rowley, a Wallingford-Swarthmore student in the OPTIONS program, representing Student Services.
    • Jonathan Sacerdote, a Chester Upland student at TCA, also representing Student Services.
    • John Toriello, adult OPTIONS client, is Student Services alternate.

Approval of the following COVID-19 pandemic-related items:

  • Acceptance of DCIU – Non-Public Schools Safety Grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency in the amount of $414,325.00 ($406,214.00 to pass through to eligible Nonpublic Schools).
  • Approve acceptance of DCIU – COVID 19 – Health & Safety Grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency in the amount of $90,000.00 to address COVID-19 related health and safety needs.

Approval to enhance student learning and work experience and support future educators:

  • Affiliation Agreements with The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and Temple University for the development and conduct of field experience training including practicum and internships in psychology.

Approval to support districts, communities and students' specific learning needs:

  • Contract with Haverford Township School District and Southeast Delco School District for a nonpublic reading specialist to provide Wilson Reading Instruction/Tutoring from July 1, 2020 to August 6, 2020.
