Approval to support professional development opportunities for District and IU staff:

  • Contract with Southeast Delco School District to provide the following training services:
    • “Supporting Staff and Students Returning to School” training on September 1, 2020 for one day
    • “PREPaRE Refresher” training on October 8, 2020 for one day
  • Contract with Southeast Delco to provide up to ten hours of consultation regarding “Supporting Students and Pupil Services Staff” from September 3, 2020 to June 12, 2021.
  • Memorandum of agreement with the District 1199C Training and Upgrading fund for DCIU Early Head Start/Head Start to receive a stipend for employee operating expenses under the Head Start Apprenticeship Program.
  • Agreement between LinkIt and DCIU for LinkIt to provide consortium rate pricing to our districts for their data reporting system.
  • Contract with Teachstone Training, LLC to conduct two PreK Observation training seats and two PreK Affiliate training (TTT) seats from September 1, 2020 to September 15, 2021 for the Early Head Start/Head Start Program.

Approval to enhance student learning and work experience and support future educators:

  • Memorandum of Understanding with the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the Delaware County Technical Schools (DCTS) to participate in the Technical Assistance Program (TAP) activities for the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Articulation agreement with the University of Northwestern Ohio for Automotive Technology students to receive up to six credits for AUI26 Suspension and Steering and up to six credits for AUI27 Hydraulic Brake Systems during the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Articulation agreement with The University of Northwestern Ohio for HVAC students to receive up to six credits for HVAC110 Services and Procedures–1 during the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Articulation agreements with Neumann University for Exercise Therapy & Sports Science students to receive up to nine credits; Advertising Design & Commercial Arts students to receive up to six credits; Early Childhood Education to receive up to five credits; Health Sciences students to receive up to six credits; and Medical Careers students to receive up to six credits during the 2020- 2021 school year.
  • Articulation agreement with Philadelphia Suburban PHCC Plumbing Apprenticeship School of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Plumbing students for the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Contract with Careers through Culinary Arts Program, which provides DCTS Culinary Arts students a professional culinary network that connects students with internships, college programs and scholarships, for the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Continue agreement with Upper Darby School District for a DCTS Cosmetology instructor to work in the District’s Cosmetology Program during the 2020-2021 school year.
  • Submit and implement the 2020-2021 Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Continuity of Education for Career and Technical Centers Grant in the estimated amount of $358,088.00.

Approval to support student activities:

  • Approve agreement with Scripps National Spelling Bee for DCIU to sponsor the Delaware County Scripps Spelling Bee during the 2020-2021 school year.
