New DCIU Administrator: Information Technology

The Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) Board of Directors, recently approved the appointment of Khalid Ayyubov as the new Director, Information Technology, effective June 17, 2019.

Khalid is an experienced IT professional. In fact, he has been involved in various aspects of information technology most of his life. For example, at the age of 13, Khalid was credited for custom-building his first personal computer. His latest achievement includes the design and implementation of a complex IT enterprise for a large and geographically-spread organization.

Born in Azerbaijan, Khalid relocated to the United States at age of 20. For the last 16 years, Khalid has worked for a variety of small, large, family-owned and public organizations with progressively increasing responsibilities. He possesses a wide range of skills and experience in infrastructure management, strategic planning, managed services and cyber security. He has excelled at introducing organizational changes and leveraging existing technology and knowledge base with internal resources to facilitate organizational growth.

Besides IT, Khalid is also very passionate about education. While continuously enhancing his own education, he has also been dedicated to teaching children and adults for the last eight years. He currently teaches talented youth at the Johns Hopkins University.

Khalid is currently working toward his doctoral degree in Information Technology from Walden University. He received his Master of Adult Education and Training degree in 2018 and Master of Information Systems in 2008, both from the University of Phoenix. Finally, Khalid received his Bachelor of Information Technology in 2006 from DeVry University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

In his spare time, Khalid spends time with his family and friends while allocating enough time for his continuous professional development. Playing soccer, gardening and quick beach getaways are among Khalid’s list of interest and hobbies.
