Local Students Participate in Reading Olympics

The 2016 Delaware County Reading Olympics is underway as the first of three nights of competition at Radnor High School has successfully been completed. The competition continues tonight and concludes tomorrow evening.
Morton, PA –  While many students spend their free time playing video games, nearly 2000 Delaware County school students spent many hours reading books over the course of this school year. They are now putting the knowledge gained from reading those books to use during the annual Reading Olympics.
What: Delaware County Reading Olympics sponsored by the Delaware County Intermediate Unit
Who: This year 171 teams are participating over the three nights representing schools from twelve of our school districts as well several independent and Archdiocese schools. In total this year there are 10 high school teams, 50 middle school teams and 111 elementary school teams. Each team has an average of 12 students, so for 2016, DCIU is sponsoring, and Radnor is hosting, an event that involves approximately 2000 Delaware County students.  
When: Three evenings between May 2, 3, 4, 2016  – Competition is from 6:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
May 2 – All High School teams and 1/2 of the Elementary School teams
May 3 – All Middle School teams
May 4 – The remaining 1/2 of the Elementary School teams
