
Business Manager Search for Southeast Delco School District
Southeast Delco School District is searching for a Business Manager. The Business Manager leads all functions and operations of the Business Office, which include budget, financial planning, auditing, debt management, investments, capital projects, facilities, maintenance, safety and security, custodial, transportation, food services, and business services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The position is responsible for the comprehensive administration and management of the school district's business operations. This includes oversight of financial planning, budgeting, investments, audits, financial reporting, capital projects, transportation, food services, buildings and grounds, and custodial services. The role entails supervising business-related departments, managing federal program finances, and ensuring sound fiscal control through effective accounting, auditing, and budgeting policies. The individual develops and administers insurance programs to protect district assets, manages risk and claims, and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additional duties include preparing financial analyses and reports for the Superintendent and Board, maintaining fiscal records, developing long-range financial plans, and overseeing the investment and cash flow strategies. The position also manages procurement, purchasing, and inventory control, serving as the district's Purchasing Agent responsible for bid reviews, policy compliance, and vendor relations. Beyond financial management, the role supervises building maintenance, safety, and renovation projects, ensuring facilities are safe and conducive to education. The administrator participates in collective bargaining as a liaison to Board committees, serves as Secretary to the Board of School Directors, and performs other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent to ensure efficient district operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, and two to five years experience or Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, and one to three years experience. Prior experience as a school business administrator preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, business correspondence and manuals, and the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and apply mathematical operations to tasks.
