Professional Learning Communities for Educators

AT Coffee Talk

Participants will learn about various assistive technology devices and how to facilitate their use with students to encourage participation in the general education classroom. Participants will learn about and be provided hands-on experience with low-tech devices, mid-tech devices, and high-tech devices. This is also an opportunity to network and share ideas with other educators.

Coach and Mentor Collaborative (CMC)

Instructional coaching is a proven, job-embedded professional development strategy whereby a highly skilled educator works with other educators in a collegial and collaborative manner to strengthen instructional practice. This personalized, ongoing, classroom-based approach fosters teacher growth and provides consistent support as teachers work to improve their knowledge, skills, and techniques within a culture of collective responsibility for student achievement.

Complex Learner Network

These network meetings are designed for special educators and administrators providing instruction to students with complex learning needs. Participants will be given the opportunity to learn and discuss research-based practices and resources. Each meeting will follow a consistent format that will include opportunities for information sharing amongst participants, problem-solving, and reflection on implementation and practice.

Emergent Communicator PLC

This PLC is designed as a follow-up series for SLPs who attended the Emergent Communicator Training in July 2022. Continued discussion about assessment and intervention for students who are emergent communicators. Sharing of resources and supports for this population of students will be a focus of this series of meetings.

Connect to learn from peers, psychologists, PDE, and the county liaison regarding compliance and best practice in supporting gifted students throughout their education.

PBIS Administrators Networking Meeting

These sessions for district/building administrators and coaches will allow districts implementing PBIS around the county to network regarding best PBIS practices. Important information will be shared regarding the PA PBIS Network and the state behavior initiative. Administrators will present key implementation topics. Participants will be able to ask questions and seek support regarding PBIS.

These sessions for building coaches will allow those implementing PBIS around the county to network regarding PBIS best practices. This forum for school counselors provides the opportunity to discuss common issues, ask questions, determine best practices, and share program ideas among peers.

Secondary Transition Council Meeting

Quarterly networking meetings to promote collaborative relationships between LEAs, transition coordinators, agencies that provide services for transitioning to adult life, and parents to facilitate secondary transition planning for students with disabilities.

SLP Networking Meeting

These SLP networking opportunities will focus on relevant topics for school-based SLPs. Participants will have opportunities for small and large group discussion.

Unique Learning System PLC

Participants will be provided the opportunity to explore various components of Unique Learning System and News-2-You. Sessions will focus on exploration of materials, modeling the use of materials, and opportunities to run lessons with peers. Additionally, participants will have time to network with one another to share ideas for organization and implementation.
