DCIU can help districts develop a comprehensive roadmap to guide their district in achieving its goals and objectives related to STEM education, research, and innovation. The content of STEM professional development may vary depending on the target audience and the specific goals of the training. Educators learn to engage students with science principles, coding, robotics, and engineering to prepare them for success in a 21st century world and encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation through hands-on learning experiences.  Educators do not need to be experts in STEM to support students in understanding STEM principles.  Coaching services help educators by facilitating individual professional development, enhance skills, and foster a deeper understanding of STEM concepts that can be integrated into instruction and the classroom environment.

• Google Tools are a popular way to help create student-centric learning experiences, reduce reliance on paper, and engage 21st century learners. trainers are experienced Google users, Google Certified Educators, and Google Certified Trainers and are enthusiastic about helping your district provide teacher support and training for this versatile set of tools.  
   
  Google professional services include professional development and support for the following: 

• Google Tools (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Classroom, etc.) 

• Chromebook integration 

• Google CS First (a free easy-to-use introductory computer science curriculum) 

• Google Applied Digital Skills 

• Google Certified Educator Bootcamps (3 days; includes certification exam) 

DCIU provides project-based learning resources through the STEM Lending Library, allowing students to experiment with cutting-edge, innovative technology equipment available for loan. The STEM Lending Library’s growing inventory is equipped with Pre-K – 12 STEM materials, including 3D printers, robotics kits, AR/VR devices, coding and programming items, invention kits, and more. The STEM Lending Library also houses a complete set of Engineering is Elementary Kits and Picture Perfect STEM units. Use of this equipment in the classroom creates a STEM experience for students and builds a Maker environment.  
 
Schools and districts can join the STEM Lending Library through an annual membership by emailing learn@dciu.org. Teachers may borrow equipment for a period of two weeks per loan after completing training for items in the library.
