DCIU offers a range of training opportunities from introductory overviews to in-depth training and technical assistance in support of ongoing school improvement and meeting the needs of all students. The Department of Teaching & Learning provides services via workshops at DCIU, on-site in school districts, or online to assist in meeting the educational needs of all students. Trainings and technical assistance can be tailored to meet the needs of the school district.
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
DCIU’s services in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment support schools in the design, development, implementation, and sustainability of a local standards-based curricula, assessments, and instruction that supports the academic success of all students.
Special Education Training and Consultation
The Teaching & Learning Training and Consultation (TaC) team provides special education training and consultation services which are federally funded through the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and are available to all public school entities.
Strategies for MTSS Behavior
DCIU Teaching & Learning maintains teams of experts who can support schools and districts with research-based approaches to support student behavior and success. DCIU can provide targeted and sustained training, consultation, and technical assistance in developing and implementing an effective, equity-focused MTSS framework that is inclusive of universal screening, progress monitoring, implementation of a multi-level prevention and intervention system, and data-based decision making.

DCIU STEM specialists offer strategic planning support, training, coaching, and a comprehensive STEM Lending Library to support schools and districts in implementing and sustaining educational programs that prepare students for 21st century career readiness. Our team can provide support in implementation, evaluation, professional development, and coaching to ensure your school or district excels in STEM education.
