Parents As Teachers (PAT)

A national program designed to provide all parents with children age birth to five (kindergarten entry) with important resources and information to ensure happier and healthier children. This home and/or centered based visitation program helps parents focus on the physical, intellectual, language, social and emotional development of their children and encourage parents as they are their child’s first and most important teacher.

 

Toddlers Group

An interactive program designed for pre-school aged children to help them learn with their peers through play. Also, gives caregivers the opportunity to connect with other caregivers. Group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.

 

Parent Education

Our parenting workshops series and programs are designed to provide parents with cutting edge parenting techniques to deal with practical/everyday parenting issues and concerns. Topics covered are child development, single and shared parenting, nutrition, safety, discipline, self-esteem, taking care of yourself, stress and anger management, and much more.

   

Programs/Family Activities

This service offers opportunities for families to come together to learn and enjoy family time.  Examples of programs and family activities are…. Ice Cream Social, Teddy Bear Picnic, Cooking in the Kitchen with Kids, Make & Take Holiday Gifts, Family Fun Night, Olympics, Arts & Crafts and more.

 

Information and Referral

The Family Centers provide professionals and individual families with an extensive network of resources and information as well as follow up services.

 

Toy and Book Lending Libraries

Families have the opportunity to borrow books, videos, toys and games from the Family Centers for educational or family time in their home over a two-week period.

 

 

Car Seat Safety Checks at the Family Center

The Family Center is now offering FREE Car Seat Safety checks by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST). Please fill in the information below and someone will be in contact to schedule the next available appointment. Car Seat Safety Checks will occur in the parking lot of the Delaware County Family Center, by appointment only. 

*We do not have car seats to provide for families at this time. If you are in need of a car seat, please talk to your physician about a referral to CHOP Child Safety Seat Program*
