DCIU’s Project WIN: Empowering Young Adults Through Workforce Development
The goal of Project WIN is to help young adults in Delaware County achieve and maintain family-sustaining employment by providing access to critical job readiness resources. The program is open to individuals with or without a high school diploma and offers comprehensive employment and vocational support services tailored to meet participants’ needs.
Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify, participants must be U.S. citizens or legally authorized to work in the United States and possess at least one of the following barriers to employment:
- Out of school for at least one academic quarter
- High school graduate or equivalent, but basic skills deficient or an English language learner
- Justice-involved individual
- Experiencing housing insecurity
- In or aged out of foster care, or left foster care for kinship guardianship at age 16
- Eligible for assistance under Sec. 477 of the Social Security Act or in an out-of-home placement
- Pregnant or parenting
- Individual with a disability
- Low-income individual requiring additional assistance for education or employment
Comprehensive Support Services
Project WIN provides both in-house support and connections to community partners to help participants gain skills and employment opportunities.
Services include:
- Career, Interests, and Skills Assessments – Helping participants identify their strengths and career path
- Case Management Services – One-on-one support to navigate barriers and set goals
- Training, Certification & Apprenticeship Resources – Access to industry-recognized programs Full-Time Subsidized Work Experiences – Paid opportunities to gain hands-on experience Internship Assistance – Helping participants secure meaningful internships
- Interpersonal & Interview Skills Training – Preparing individuals for workplace success
GED Preparation Referrals & Tutoring Resources – Supporting academic achievement
