As part of the search for DCIU’s next Executive Director, the Board of Directors invited stakeholders from across the organization and Delaware County’s educational community—including staff, school district leaders, parents and families of students in DCIU programs, and students—to share their perspectives on DCIU’s strengths, opportunities, and priorities for future leadership. The following letter provides an update on that process and introduces the stakeholder report, which summarizes the feedback received and will help inform the Board as the search moves forward.
Dear Members of the DCIU Community:
On behalf of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit Board of Directors, thank you to everyone who contributed to the stakeholder process for our next Executive Director. Your participation in discussions, responses to the survey, and thoughtful outreach have provided valuable guidance for this important decision.
We are sharing the accompanying stakeholder report so that our community and prospective candidates can understand the perspectives and priorities expressed during this process. It brings together input from superintendents, central office staff, and survey respondents, highlighting DCIU’s strengths, areas for improvement, and expectations for future leadership.
We appreciate both the encouragement and the candor reflected in these contributions. While participants brought different experiences and viewpoints, their feedback demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening DCIU’s services and supporting the students, families, staff, and school districts we serve.
The report will help guide the Board’s evaluation of candidates and inform our interview questions. It will also give candidates a clearer understanding of the community’s expectations and the opportunities they would have to lead, collaborate, and build upon DCIU’s work.
Stakeholder feedback is an essential part of this search, and your perspectives deserve careful consideration and will help us make a more informed selection.
Thank you for investing your time and thoughts in DCIU’s future. We look forward to continuing to work together as we select our next Executive Director.
Ken Dinitz, President
Board of Directors
