DCIU Job-Alike Meeting, Professional Learning Communities, and Curriculum Councils

DCIU's job-alike meetings, professional learning communities, and curriculum councils provide a meaningful way for educators to network and receive information relevant to specialized content area and/or roles.

Regular meetings for each group are held to share best practices, provide a support network for addressing issues, and serve as a communication conduit for state initiatives and information related to the content area. All meetings through November 2020 will be conducted virtually.

Job-Alike Meetings for Administrators

Purpose

DCIU holds monthly meetings to facilitate dialogue among leaders across the county who are responsible for curriculum and instruction in their districts. This supports networking and collaborative problem solving. DCIU staff keeps the group abreast of PDE initiatives and requirements, trends in instruction and assessment, and professional development opportunities.

Purpose

DCIU serves as the Title III Consortium Lead for schools that receive federal Title III funds. As Consortium fiscal lead and partner, DCIU coordinates Title III activities, ensuring funds are spent to carry out goals in the application and benefit of all consortium members. Quarterly meetings support collaboration and transparency. Participants will engage with member LEAs to determine Consortium activities and facilitate planning. They will also receive federal and state updates to support program oversight and compliance.

Purpose

The DCIU English Language Development Program provides direct English language development instruction for students in Delaware County schools who are English learners (ELs). Professional Learning Communities and Curriculum Councils

Purpose

This is a series of workshops based on the POWER AAC modules developed by Gail Van Tatenhove for PaTTAN. The POWER AAC series is designed to build the capacity of school personnel to improve communication skills and provide flexible, generative vocabulary for students who need or use AAC. This series of trainings also includes onsite coaching and consultation opportunities for teams.

Who Should Attend

It is most effective for teams of teachers, SLPs, and other key service providers to participate to allow for planning and implementation of target strategies.
