    Reading Olympics

    Reading Olympics is a year-long competition for students in grades 4-12. Students read 40 books throughout the year with a culminating game-show style event at the end of the year bringing together teams from across the county.  For more information about Reading Olympics, go to the Reading Olympics page or contact Laurie Newsome at lnewsome@dciu.org.     STEM Design Challenge

    The STEM Design Challenge showcases teams of students in grades 4-8 to build working structures from K'Nex--each year the challenge is different and structures must accomplish specific tasks.     Young Authors' Project

    DCIU partners with the Delaware County Reading Council (DCRC) to offer the annual Young Authors' Project. The Young Authors' Project invites students in grades 1-8 to submit narrative, informational, or persuasive texts to the DCRC for judging on the basis of focus. content, organization, and style. The Project culminates in the annual Young Author's Conference where winners at each grade level receive a personalized certificate and copy of all the winning entries.     24 Challenge Game
