💬 Talk with a School Counselor

Your high school counselor can help you understand how DCTS fits with your schedule and graduation requirements. They can also guide you through the application process, answer questions about transportation, and explain how DCTS can connect to your future college or career goals.

🏫 Schedule a Visit

Visiting gives families the chance to see labs, meet instructors, and experience what technical education looks like in action. Parents can schedule to visit the programs their child is interested in based on the campus where the program is held. Parent tours last approximately 30 minutes.

📝 Eligibility

Students in grades 9-11 from Delaware County school districts may apply. DCTS programs begin in 10th grade.

To gain admission to a technical program, applicants must meet DCTS admission criteria for grades, attendance, discipline, and career readiness.

🌐 Application Process

1. Complete the online application with a parent or guardian. Applications for the 2026-2027 school year open on December 15, 2025.
   1. If internet access is limited, applications can be completed with help from your high school counselor.

2. Write the required essays. These essays are your chance to explain why you want to join a technical program and why you would be a strong applicant for the program you would like to enter. Be thoughtful and specific. Admissions teams want to see your interest, commitment, and motivation for the program you've chosen.
    
3. High schools submit required documents, including transcripts, attendance and discipline records, and (if applicable) IEP or 504 plans.

🗓️ Deadline for Priority Consideration

Apply by February 28, 2026 for priority consideration. Applications submitted later are reviewed if space is available.

⚕️ Important for Medical Careers Applicants

Students applying to the 12th grade Medical Careers Program must also complete a supplemental application and may be required to participate in an interview. The supplemental application is submitted through your high school counselor.

🔎 Admissions Review

Applications are reviewed based on grades, attendance, discipline, and interest in career and technical education. Some programs may require interviews.

📩 Notification

Students who apply by the deadline are notified of admission in late May. Late applicants may be placed if space allows.

🚌 Transportation and Costs

Transportation is provided by each high school. There is no tuition to attend DCTS. Programs require uniforms and may require tools. Financial assistance is available if needed.
