“DCIU and DCTS Gives” Thanksgiving Food Donation Drive Spreads Kindness to Local Families This Holiday Season

In the spirit of giving, the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) and Delaware County Technical Schools (DCTS) launched an annual Thanksgiving Food Donation Drive to support Delaware County families in need during the holiday season. DCTS students and DCIU staff teamed up to hold the first annual “DCIU and DCTS Gives” Thanksgiving Food Donation Drive.

DCTS students from both the Aston and Folcroft campuses and staff from the DCIU Education Service Center in Morton held a weeklong food drive donation. Hundreds of non-perishable food donations were collected by students and staff and hand delivered to the Delaware County Food Bank in Media on November 26. Students and staff were proud to participate, ensuring that more families in Delaware County can enjoy nourishing meals this Thanksgiving and holiday season.

“The holidays are a time for togetherness and gratitude,” said Dr. Maria Edelberg, Executive Director of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. “I am proud of the commitment of our DCTS students and DCIU team for their generosity in giving back to our community and we hope our contributions bring a little extra joy to families this Thanksgiving.”
