For more than three decades, the Delaware County Education Foundation (DCEF) has worked to expand educational opportunities throughout Delaware County. Established in the early 1990s, DCEF is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a longstanding philanthropic partner of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU).

The Foundation supports students, educators, schools, and communities by providing resources, developing partnerships, supporting innovative programs, and creating opportunities that complement and strengthen DCIU's educational mission. As educational needs have evolved, DCEF has expanded its work to include grants and charitable giving, educational staffing, workforce development, fundraising, and community and corporate partnerships.

As a charitable organization, DCEF can pursue grants, philanthropic investments, charitable contributions, and other resources that may not otherwise be available directly to DCIU—creating additional opportunities for individuals, businesses, foundations, and community organizations to invest in education.

What We Do

DCEF brings together resources, expertise, and partnerships to strengthen education throughout Delaware County. Our work includes:

• Educational Grants — Supporting innovative programs, projects, and learning opportunities that enhance teaching and student learning.
• Charitable Giving & Fundraising — Connecting donors and community partners with meaningful opportunities to invest in education.
• Community & Corporate Partnerships — Building relationships that expand resources and opportunities for students and schools.
• Workforce Development — Supporting programs that prepare students for career pathways and future success.
• Educational Staffing & Services — Connecting DCIU and participating Local Education Agencies with experienced professionals and specialized expertise.
• Student & Educator Opportunities — Supporting experiences and initiatives that enrich learning and strengthen educational programs.

The breadth of this work reflects the Foundation's role beyond traditional grantmaking, including fundraising, staffing, workforce development, student programs, academic enrichment, and community partnerships.

Educational Grants

DCEF supports educators with innovative ideas for improving teaching and learning. Eligible DCIU and Delaware County Technical Schools professionals may apply for funding for projects that positively impact student learning, encourage innovation, and promote best practices in education.

Partner With Us

Individuals, families, businesses, foundations, and community organizations can help DCEF create new opportunities for students and educators. Donations may support the Foundation's overall mission or be designated for a specific DCIU program, project, or initiative.
