In DCIU’s continuing efforts to not only provide cutting-edge programs to prepare students for a 21st century job market, but also to provide the best services possible in the best environment possible, DCIU has embarked upon a major construction project at the DCTS Aston building. The Aston Building Project will enhance and expand the current building to include improved security systems, improvement and expansion of meeting facilities, technology upgrades, and building upgrades. The renovations and additions to the facility at Aston will provide a combined facility that will house Special Education Programs, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and Early Childhood Programs (ECE). This exciting project broke ground this summer and is expected to be completed in 2019.
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Special Programs wings are projected to be ready for the 2018-19 school year. The renovations to the Career and Technical Education wing is projected to be complete for the 2019-20 school year.
Work completed to date includes: removing trees and setting up to get the ground ready for the steel to be put in place and the slabs to be put down so that the building of ECE and Special Programs wings can begin.
