Be Proud

  • Be Proud is a day program for students ages 13 to 17 who are referred by the Delaware County Juvenile Court and/or Children and Youth Services. The program serves a maximum of 16 students in grades 7-12.  Student stays can range from a relatively short period of time to an entire school year and provides instruction in the four major subject areas of Math, Language Arts, Social Studies and Science. Be Proud also provides day treatment services.

The goal of Be Proud is to provide students with the capacities to return to regular school. The small and highly structured setting provides an anchor to those students who have difficulty in a regular school setting. Be Proud students attend four academic classes per day as well as Physical Education activities, arts and crafts or counseling as the day or situation warrants. Friday is devoted to community service. All students are also on a behavior system that involves rewards for positive classroom behavior and class participation.
