The County Alternative High School (TCAHS)
TCAHS is a full day special education program designed to provide a new educational experience for students who have had significant difficulties in previous school placements. Students receive a fully accredited high school academic program, a vocational exploration program, a structured behavior management system and mental health supports. In collaboration with Crozer-Chester Medical Center, it is the mission of TCAHS to provide students with a high-quality educational program which addresses both the educational and behavioral needs of students, as well as providing clinical services that will facilitate the development of pro-social and problem-solving skills.
Girls’ Preparatory ClassThe Girls’ Preparatory program provides a rigorous academic program, coupled with an intensive counseling program, in a single-sex environment for girls whose learning needs are best met in this type of educational environment. This program serves girls in grades 8 through 12 with a maximum of 12 students. Girls’ Prep allows every student to be challenged and excel at their own level through custom-tailored instruction including:
- Learning through direct instruction
- A computer-based interactive learning experience
- Daily counseling using evidence-based practices in a strengths-based, skill-building approach creating a safe space for girls to address risky behaviors, build on protective factors, and improve relationships in a format that interests and engages girls.
