Marple Education Center Overview
The Marple Education Center serves students from ages 5-21 with mild to severe and profound disabilities. Three main programs operate out of Marple Education Center: Autistic Support, Multiple Disabilities Support, and Life-Skills Support.
The Autistic Support Program serves students diagnosed on the autism spectrum and works with families and school districts to meet students’ individual needs while working toward placement in the least restrictive environment. The Multiple Disability Support Program serves students with severe and profound multiple disabilities, cognitive deficits, and physical and/or sensory impairments. The program focuses on functional skills and behaviors critical for activities of daily living, along with an emphasis on literacy development. The Life Skills Support Program serves students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, significant learning problems, and emotional/behavioral disorders. Features of this program include the employability program, school wide positive behavior support program, integration of technology in all classrooms, and the student-run school store.Watch our DCIU Spotlight video!
