    1. Effective Online Teaching (11/29/2017- 1/24/2018, 3 credits)
Effective Online Teaching reinforces the teachers current knowledge of effective instructional practices as measured by Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching (FFT) and transfers those practices to the online environment. This course will provide an overview of online learning and an introduction to the iNACOL online learning standards. Participants will explore ways in which the domains from the FFT differ in an online environment when compared to the traditional environment. Throughout the course participants will examine online teaching pedagogy and develop materials that can help provide an engaging online environment that can increase student achievement.  The course will conclude with a look into advancing your own professional learning.

    2. Online Development and Design (2/28/2018- 4/25/2018, 3 credits)
This course will allow students to demonstrate their ability to develop and design online content that reflects the iNACOL national standards.  Students will examine tools and resources that allow for strong instructional design.  Tools reviewed will allow teachers to scaffold lessons and maintain rigor, providing students an environment where they can succeed. Throughout the course participants will examine online teaching pedagogy and develop materials that can help provide an engaging online environment that can increase student achievement. The course is developed around iNACOL Standards for quality online teaching and ISTE Standards for Teachers.

    3. Online Assessment (Summer 2018, 3 credits)
This course will allow students to demonstrate their ability to assess their class in the online environment.  Assessment can serve as an accountability tool, but it can also be an ongoing process for learning. Effective teaching requires the use of both summative and formative assessment.  The online environment offers some unique challenges for assessment, but also offers opportunities for positive ongoing assessment using a variety of tools.  This course will examine online assessment tools and rubrics.  Students will also analyze and evaluate theories of assessment and adapt them to the online environment. Whether it is to help students reach learning goals or collect data to adapt instruction, assessment and structured feedback serves and important function in creating an engaging environment for the students.

    4. Emerging Trends and Professional Responsibilities (Fall 2018, 3 credits)
This course will examine issues regarding digital citizenship and professional responsibilities when it comes to online learning. The online environment puts a great deal of responsibility for the student to take ownership of learning and become creators of content. It is important for both teachers and students to understand etiquette in the online environment. The teacher should have a full understanding of legal issues in online education as well. The course will prepare teachers to stay up to date with current trends in online education and also has built in a fieldwork experience that serves as a capstone for the endorsement program.
