The Delaware County Family Centers of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit was established in 1994 to ensure the healthy growth and development of children in Delaware County through programs and services that support their families and communities. The Family Centers Initiative is based on the philosophy that the most effective way to ensure the healthy growth and development of children is to support their families and the communities in which they live. Family Centers across the state have been agents for community planning and service delivery according to the interests, needs and priorities within the communities they serve. The Delaware County Family Centers are safe, warm and respectful environments, where the strengths of individuals and families are recognized and built upon in the delivery of services.
The Delaware County Family Centers Strategic Plan is a roadmap for change to guide the organization at a time when providing access to programs and services to support the health and well-being of children and their families has never been more important. Together with its partners in the Delaware County Intermediate Unit and in the broader community, the Delaware County Family Centers Advisory Board and staff is focused on achieving a set of focused strategic goals in pursuit of its mission and in the interests of building its long-term organizational sustainability.
